The mere word is enough
to inspire chills from
the depths of the spirit.
To think that only one
whose match is yours,
lurks upon the world
as a facet of existence.
Only one among populations
which can only be
compared to particles of dust
resting high above the bookshelves.
The search is exhausting
and day after day, heartbreaking.
Rivers of tears flood the earth
when victory is not found.
Seek, and ye shall find
that which is held at a distance.
And remember, the soulmate
yearns for your presence as well.
