I close my eyes
and think of lies
to tell the love
I do despise.
To say that I hate him
and wish he'd die;
but like I said,
those would be lies.
When in truth,
I love him so.
I asked for forever
and he said no.
So my burden is heavy,
only he lightens the load.
As for now and forever,
I'm alone on the road.
